Captain Riches / Tiki Fortune / Mine Blast
HOW THE ADVANTAGE WORKS
- Captain Riches and its companion Tiki Fortune feature coin holders above reels two, three and four. When three coins are collected to fill the coin holder above the reel, that reel will turn wild for the next three spins (until the three coins are gone). This game is a borderline AP trap, so be sure to understand how the game really works before playing.
- The first two reels with coin holders (reels two and three) each have two 3x multiplier coins.
- Any active wilds in reels two or three. When active, the reels will have a glowing gold border around them, with the coins above indicating how many wild spins are left. If there is a glowing gold border, but no coins above, then do not play.
- Active wilds in reel four if there are any multiplier coins (2x or 3x) above the reel.
Additional notes
- If you play this game for any amount of time (or just simply check all the bet levels regularly), you will find it’s extremely common to have two coins above all three reels. This should be your first clue that it couldn’t possibly always be +EV in that state. The game rules state that the chances of collecting coins on a reel may be different depending on the number of coins already collected. This essentially means the first two coins land very quickly, but the third coin is much harder to get. Therefore, the game purposely tricks players into thinking it is in a profitable state when it is not.
- I’ve watched APs get slaughtered on this game time and time again by playing any time there are two coins above all three reels (or even just two reels). One time, I even told a fellow hustler how the third coin is harder to land, but he didn’t believe me.
- It’s also harder to get multiple reels wild at the same time compared to similar games like Golden Egypt. Having multiple reels wild is usually required to get big wins on this type of game.
- The treasure chests (or tiki heads) on display above the reels are also meant to trick players—the jackpot bonus isn’t any more likely to hit if more of the prizes are revealed.
- You can tap the bet level on the main touchscreen to check the machine without having to bet (or even put money in).
- Captain Riches and Tiki Fortune have an RTP that ranges from 85% to 96.07%.
- The bet sizes will have their own empty/coin slots and the jackpots aren’t must-hit-bys, so you shouldn’t chase those.
