DICE SEEKER
HOW THE ADVANTAGE WORKS (Flappers & Dappers / Heroes & Villains / Viking Invasion)
WHEN TO PLAY
- Dice Seeker features rectangles above the reels that contain characters, credit values and treasure chests. Each rectangle has a hit point counter in the bottom right. When a dice symbol lands on a reel, the number on the die shoots up to remove the hit points from the rectangle directly above. After the hit points reach zero, the player wins whatever prize is in the rectangle.
WHEN TO PLAY
- Any large (two reels wide and three spaces tall) character with three or fewer hit points remaining.
- Two of the large characters with five or fewer hit points remaining.
Additional notes
- The large (2x3) characters contain the most valuable prizes, so those are the only ones worth chasing. After the character is blown up, the player gets to pick between three hidden prizes on the screen. There is usually one large credit value and two smaller credit values. Occasionally, a free games award (with either four or eight free games) will be included in the three prizes. Getting this is by far the most valuable.
- The prize pick feature will occasionally appear in the smaller blocks as well, but this is rare.
- The line hits on this game are terrible. Most of the payout comes from the dice feature.
- Dice can land on multiple reels at once, but only one die can land per reel.
- The free games bonus is fairly volatile. If you don’t make it past the first round (which is difficult to do with only four free games), then it can pay very little. But if you make it far into the second round with the boss, you can get a huge payout.
- You will sometimes encounter large credit values (worth more than 7x your bet) in the small 1x1 rectangles. These generally are not worth chasing because it is difficult to land a dice symbol in that specific reel. With the 2x3 characters, you have double the chance of landing the dice symbol since it takes up two reels.
- This can be a frustrating game because if you get unlucky and pick the smallest prize, you will most likely lose money on the play. You need to log enough sessions to even out the bad picks with the good picks.
- Like other Gaming Arts machines, it’s possible to check for plays without putting in a ticket. If you tap the menu icon in the lower left of the screen, you can use the up-and-down arrows to cycle through the bet levels.
- This game usually (but not always) comes in multiple denominations, so be sure to check them all for plays.
