REGAL RICHES / PROSPERITY PEARL
HOW THE ADVANTAGE WORKS
WHEN TO PLAY
- Regal Riches and its companion Prosperity Pearl have a MHB progressive wilds feature where wilds are accumulated and then awarded before they reach a certain number.
- The blue wilds feature occurs during the base game. Blue wild symbols are collected on the counter directly above the middle reel. The blue wilds reset to five and must hit by 50. It becomes more likely to hit as the number increases—it’s rare to find it above 12 and the highest I have ever seen is 22.
- The purple (minor), green (major) and yellow (mega) wilds are awarded during a ten free games feature. The free games feature can be triggered randomly, but it is guaranteed to hit by the MHB number, which is 75 for purple, 100 for green and 125 for yellow.
WHEN TO PLAY
- Blue (base game): 8
- Purple (minor): 61
- Green (major): 84
- Yellow (mega): 112
Additional notes
- The numbers given above are the approximate break even points—wait for the numbers to get even higher for a larger profit.
- The purple wilds accumulate the most quickly, with green more slowly and yellow even more slowly. The majority of the time you will be chasing purple, with green occasionally and yellow rarely.
- When chasing yellow, make sure you have a large bankroll. It pays out very well, but you can get down deep while chasing it. It’s common to see other players sit down to chase it and then throw in the towel when they run out of cash. This is a prime opportunity to jump in.
- Purple resets to 30 and hits by 75, green resets to 40 and hits by 100 and yellow resets to 50 and hits by 125. The progressives can randomly hit early before that, but those are the numbers they are guaranteed to hit by.
- Purple hitting at 75 pays on average 75x your bet, green hitting at 100 pays on average 150x your bet and yellow hitting at 125 pays on average 225x your bet.
- The screen will start to shake and go crazy when you are about to randomly hit one of the free games features. It rarely hits during the regular suspense spin thing it does, so don’t get excited when that happens.
- During the ten free games feature, the wilds are not randomly distributed—it will save a bunch of wilds for a “grand finale” on the final spin.
- If the wilds land on top of wilds, they turn into multipliers, up to 5x. Getting several multipliers on the same row can lead to huge payouts.
- A lot of hustlers will take these plays early, either with the hopes of getting lucky or just to demoralize other hustlers who were watching and waiting for the play to develop.
- It’s common for other APs to play blue 7’s. I’ve even heard stories of vultures with low bankrolls “selling” blue 7’s to naive APs who think it is a good play.
- The blue wilds don’t show directly on the bet pad like the other numbers, so you will need to actually tap the bet levels to check the machine.
- There are rumors among APs that Regal Riches has been “nerfed”, meaning the game’s software has been updated to make it less lucrative for hustlers. The idea is that the blue wilds don’t run as high anymore and tend to go off sooner, meaning the average ploppy will see a quicker return, so they don’t get frustrated and walk away (leaving the machine in a prime state for hustlers). I don’t have any data to confirm that this is true. But I have noticed anecdotally that on Prosperity Pearl I seem to get the blues running much higher than on Regal Riches. I’ll commonly get to 12 or 13 on PP, but rarely more than 9 or 10 on RR. But again, this is purely anecdotal and might just be variance on my part.
- Regal Riches and Prosperity Pearl have an RTP that ranges from 85% to 96%.
